Spacecraft Power Systems Engineer

Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) is looking for a Spacecraft Power Systems Engineer to support the development of spacecraft power system electronics on the Electrical Systems Engineering Services contract (ESES III) supporting the Power Systems Branch at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). The Engineer will provide leadership support for the design, development, integration, and test of spacecraft power delivery unit (PDU) and power system electronics (PSE). The ESES III contract includes the provision of electrical/electronic engineering support services and related work to the Engineering and Technology Directorate. The work includes the study, design, development, fabrication, integration, testing, verification and operations of spaceflight, airborne and ground system hardware and software, including development and validation of new technologies to enable future space and science missions. Specific duties for this position may include the following:
Design, develop, test, integration, and evaluation of spacecraft power system electronics Design of spacecraft power distribution units (PDU) Design, test, and evaluation of spacecraft power system electronics (PSE) Design, development, and test of flight ready flight-ready power supply cards Simulation and analysis of spacecraft power and electrical systems Provide box-level integration and test support Provide spacecraft-level testing and launch support Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including Interface with other spacecraft subsystems to complete integration and test activities Perform quick analysis and reporting for various power system components Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5-10 years of professional engineering experience in the design, development, test, and evaluation of spacecraft power systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Able to work in a team environment US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Qualifications:
Experience in the development of power system electronics Experience in high voltage power supply design Prior NASA or industry experience EOE, including disability/vets
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
