Pressure Vessels Systems Engineer (Union Position)


Responsibilities:
Peraton is looking for a Pressure Vessels and Systems Engineering to support the LHSS (Purge Ops) group at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
The candidate will be able to support the inspection and certification of Pressurized Vessels and Systems (PVS).
PVS includes cryogenic, vacuum, hydraulic, and compressed gases (including shop air) systems, subsystems, purge carts, R systems, test articles, relief valves, gages, flexible hoses, and other components.
They will perform engineering evaluation and analysis, review of the existing documentation, review of visual and non-destructive examinations, report preparation and/or review, risk assessment and generation of recommendations to meet NASA/GSFC requirements for pressurized systems at GSFC.
Will communicate, inform, and interact with other Contractor and Government personnel including Systems Managers, Facilities Managers, Building Managers, Engineers, Safety and Environmental Management Office Personnel, System and Research Engineers and others.
Provide consulting services to user organizations on PVS compliance requirements, design, fabrication, installation, and testing May cross-train and/or support other duties associated within area of assignment as directed by lead personnel or supervision.
Responsibilities:
Update or develop PVS inspection and program procedures, direct periodic inspections and be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the database on certification activities.
May include scheduling PVS group activities, coordination of certification efforts with device owners, direction of technicians to perform certification and other essential functions and reporting of PVS certification status as requested by management.
May be assigned to train, certify, and recertify PVS operators, which may include Civil Servants and operators from multiple on- and off-site contractors for various types of PVS.
Must be capable of successfully completing the following training:
hazard communication, personal protective equipment, IT security and other required training or certifications.
Accept and work within established policies and procedures pertaining to company rules and regulations.
May need to Travel 10%.

Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering or related technical/analytical field from a four-year accredited university.
Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience.
A minimum of 9 years of experience commensurate with skill level without a BS degreePC tools including CAD software, MS Office, E-mail, and Web applications.
Knowledge and experience with national codes and standards related to engineering/operation of pressure vessels and systems is highly desired (ASME, CGA, etc).
Desired Qualification:
Experience working with drafting software such as AutoCAD is desired.
Effective communication and positive interpersonal skills with ability to work well in a team-oriented atmosphere.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
