MBSE Systems Engineer (Jr./Mid-Level) - Space Programs


Responsibilities:
Peraton is seeking an MBSE Systems Engineer, to join our team at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, supporting our Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract.
As prime contractor on the SENSE contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment, and systems engineering of NASA's worldwide satellite communication networks.
This position can be worked primarily remotely, but there will be occasional work on site, requiring the individual to be in a local or regional area.
This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports NASA communications and navigation services and systems.
In this position, you will be responsible for Model-Based Systems Engineering activities associated with the development of space communications and navigation systems.
You will work with a diverse engineering team and will be responsible for the design and development of Model-Based Systems Engineering artifacts of the state-of-the-art NASA Near Space Network.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
Utilize Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools (Cameo Systems modeler, MagicDraw) to develop space communication and navigation system, subsystems, and component models.
Employ MBSE tools to build requirements and models for space communication and navigation systems and subsystems.
Configuration management of the technical data and artifacts within the system model.
Apply Agile Model-based Systems Engineering process in development of MBSE artifacts of the state-of-the-art NASA space communication and navigation system.
Provide systems engineering technical support across the SENSE organization, technical working groups, peer reviews, technical interchange meetings, and periodic status coordination meetings.
Support the systems engineering review presentations (eg, System Requirements Design Review (SRR), System Design Review (SDR), System Integration Review (SIR) etc.
).
These reviews are presented to upper-level NASA and Peraton management.
Apply NASA standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the engineering and development life cycle.
Develop systems engineering related documentation including, Requirements, Concept of Operations, Interface control document and user's guide.
Participate in key decision point and other system lifecycle reviews to improve quality of deliverables and identify improvements for both that effort and for overall SENSE NSN effectiveness.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics2-5 years of experience with Model-based Systems Engineering creating models using SysML and employing MagicDraw or Cameo System Modeler tools to build system modelsKnowledge of NASA or Department of Defense system engineering lifecycle processesUS citizenship with an ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance
Qualifications:

Colorado Salary Minimum:
$51,500 Colorado Salary Maximum:
$124,800 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
