Responsibilities:
Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer (Jr/Mid-Level), to join our team at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, supporting our Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract.
As prime contractor on the SENSE contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment, and systems engineering of NASA's worldwide satellite communication networks.
This position can be worked primarily remotely, but there will be occasional work on site, requiring the individual to be in a local or regional area.
This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports NASA communications and navigation services and systems.
In this position, you will be responsible for systems engineering activities associated with the development of space communications and navigation system.
You will work with a diverse engineering team and will be responsible for the design and development of Systems Engineering artifacts of the state-of-the-art NASA Near Space Network (NSN).
Your responsibilities will include the following:
Develop systems engineering related documents for space communication and navigation system including - Operations concepts, requirements, system specifications, interface control document, verification and validation plans, system user's guide etc.
Provide systems engineering technical support across the SENSE organization, technical working groups, peer reviews, technical interchange meetings, and periodic status coordination meetings.
Apply Agile Systems Engineering process in development of Systems engineering artifacts of the state-of-the-art NASA space communication and navigation system.
Support the systems engineering review presentations (eg, System Requirements Design Review (SRR), System Design Review (SDR), System Integration Review (SIR) etc.
).
These reviews are presented to upper-level NASA and Peraton management.
Apply NASA standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the engineering and development life cycle.
Perform analysis, design, and development of the space communication and navigation Perform technical trade studies related to space communication and navigation Participate in key decision point and other system lifecycle reviews to improve quality of deliverables and identify improvements for both that effort and for overall SENSE NSN effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics2
years of experience performing as a systems engineer developing operations concepts, requirements, system specifications, system interface documents, and supporting technical reviewsKnowledge of NASA or Department of Defense system engineering lifecycle processesUS citizenship with an ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science, or Applied MathematicsPrior experience working with space communication systems or NASA projectKnowledge of MBSE tools (eg Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw) and system modeling languages (eg SysML, UML)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy while understanding broader technical issuesAbility to work in both a team environment and independently as a proactive self-starterExcellent organizational skills such as prioritizing and completing multiple tasks within critical deadlinesStrong verbal and written communication skills Peraton Overview:

$51,500 Colorado Salary Maximum:
$124,800 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
