SATCOM Field Service Engineer (Jr./Mid-Level) - Space Program

Peraton has an opportunity for a SATCOM Field Service Engineer in Greenbelt, MD to support new and existing NASA Space Network projects.
As the prime contractor on the SENSE Contract, Peraton is responsible for the Operations, Maintenance, Sustainment and Systems Engineering of satellite communication systems for NASA.
This position involves providing satellite network operations and engineering expertise for support of ongoing missions as well as upcoming new Human Space Flight (HSF) missions.
The HSF Team is responsible for the overall technical authority and technical responsibility providing engineering experience in support of the TDRS Space Relay (SR) and Near Space Network (NSN) Ground Stations operations, and network fault detection, isolation, and recovery, in support for NASA's HSF missions.
This position is responsible for the following:
Knowledge of command-and-control center uplink and downlink operations.
Familiarity with developing test plans for communication networks and RF systems.
Working with mission customers and mission ops service providers (network elements) to develop and execute mission operations plan Familiar with developing briefing messages and operational status reports.
Provide input to and support Network Operations Readiness Reviews Schedule support of NSN Ground Stations Provide SR scheduling support Leading operations team during mission operations Supporting any efforts to determine Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA) for items affecting HSF network operations Develop local operating procedures Interfacing with customers and other project teams within the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects Real time support of spacecraft operations Analysis and refinement of on-orbit operations processes Support SR and NSN systems, engineering development, testing, and flight operations Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
Required
Experience:
BS degree in a technical field, and 2
years' related technical experience, or an AS degree and 4
years of related experience In lieu of formal education, 6 - 8
years of technical experience is allowable Knowledge of satellite ground station operations, mission management, flight dynamics, and system integration 2
years' experience developing and resolving technical requirements 2
years' experience creating technical documentation 2
years' experience in requirements verification and testing 2
years' experience working satellite scheduling and operations Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite (eg, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
) Security Clearance - this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.

Experience:
Experience with satellite communications networks, and more specifically the operation of the Space Network, the TDRS constellation, and/or the Direct to Earth (DTE) Network.
Experience and knowledge of NASA's Human Space Flight Network and associated communication systems is a plus Expertise in RF communications is a plus Detail-oriented with strong organization skills Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Colorado Salary Minimum:
$44,400 Colorado Salary Maximum:
$107,700 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
