Maintain accurate data on billing activities.
RESPONSIBILITIESAccurately enters patient billing data, including visit charges and supply charges, into the information system.
Accurately processes and bills Medicare, Medicaid, private payer and patient claims in accordance with payer requirements and organization policy.
Prepares Medicare, Medicaid, private payer and patient remittances for data entry.
Performs other specific projects relating to billing, data entry, and computer operations as required.
EFFECT ON END RESULTPrograms operate in compliance with agency policy and state and contractual requirements with effective management and operations within budgets.
Maintains accurate and complete billing system and process.
Ensure collection of all applicable billable accounts receivable.
To process billable hours accurately and in a timely fashion.
To provide timely and accurate feedback/reports on missing billable/service hours.

The ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to transport oneself, consumers, and program supplies as necessary.
The physical ability to travel to assigned locations, stand, stoop, bend, reach, pull, push, lift, grasp, climb, talk, see, hear and perform basic and light home maintenance activities, and operate office equipment.
Move and lift light objects up to 30 pounds such as mail, supplies, files, and equipment.
Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements.
The ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time.

REQUIREMENTSHigh school graduate or equivalent, two years college preferred.
At least 2 (two) years of experience in health care data entryAt least 1 (one) year of previous health care related billing experienceStrong problem solving and execution skills.
Strong PC skills in a Windows environment (ie Word, Excel, Power point and email) Ability to use independent judgment and address conflict and find resolutions.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Bilingual in any language a plus.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
