Configuration Management Engineer (Mid-Level) - Space Programs


Responsibilities:
Peraton is seeking a Mid-Level Configuration Management Engineer to join our team and support our Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract based out of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD.
This position will be primarily remote, but will require a person who is local to the DMV and can commute to the GSFC in Greenbelt when necessary for customer meetings or work requirements.
As prime contractor on the SENSE contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment, and systems engineering of NASA's worldwide satellite communication networks.
You will work in a dynamic, team-based development environment for the NASA Search and Rescue Office.
In this role you will be responsible for the following:
Coordinates the delivery of peer-reviewed technical documents to the NASA Configuration ManagerDevelops and maintains configuration items database that identifies the relationship between hardware, software and scan inventoriesApplies CM processes in either a development or sustainment environmentEnsures proper procedures are in place for Hardware/Software CM and that they are followed, in addition, have the ability to develop technical processes as requiredConducts procurements and coordinates with vendors regarding calibration and maintenanceInforms and advises higher level management on critical project performance and deliverablesDevelop and/or review technical systems engineering documentation as neededMaterials purchasing and trackingAct as Property Custodian:
tracking and accounting of inventory using Maximo
Qualifications:
REQUIRED
Experience:
A Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline, or related technical field, and 5
years of directly related technical experience; without a degree, 9
years of related technical experience may be considered2
years of experience in managing and coordinating Configuration Review Boards (CRBs) and Configuration Control Boards (CCB)1
years of CM audit experienceThis position requires ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, which requires a US citizen DESIRED
Experience:
CMMI Level 2 (or higher) experience 2
years of experience in QA for procurement of large ground communications systemsExperience working with the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center's Safety & Mission Assurance group1
years of logistics property management to include tagging, tracking and accounting1
years of technical experience as an engineer in the development or sustainment of hardware or software systemsExperience working with procurement systems such as Deltek or MaximoBasic familiarity with reading/learning technical documentation, drawings, etc.

Colorado Salary Minimum:
$62,300 Colorado Salary Maximum:
$151,200 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
