This is a clinically-oriented position with direct patient care.
Bariatric and Hernia Institute, PC is a general surgical practice that provides pre-operative and post-operative care to patients in this outpatient office setting.
Major surgeries are conducted in hospital facilities.
The ideal candidate will be a certified medical assistant and comfortable working in the surgical field of medicine.
The part-time need is for Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:
00 am - 4:
30 pm.
Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant will include:
Welcoming patients and helping to provide a great patient experience.
Rooming patients, taking vital signs, and conducting patient interviews.
Making entries into the electronic medical record system (Athena).
Providing instructions to patients regarding investigations and procedures to be done.
Responding to patient questions.
Assisting with office-based procedures.
Communicating with pharmacies for prescriptions Communicating with insurance companies for pre-authorizations.
Communicating with hospitals and other medical providers regarding patient care issues.
Demonstration of critical thinking.
Working effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
Compensation is competitive with market rates including medical benefits and is based on qualifications, experience and potential to contribute to the growth and development of the practice.
