Position Description
Mariko Technology Solution has an exciting position seeking a Cloud Solution Architect in the Washington, DC metro area. We are seeking senior candidates with a broad background in contemporary technologies and services such as: cloud hosting (private cloud and cloud service providers); data center consolidation; high performance storage; big data analytics; mobile computing; and agile software development. The successful candidate will develop IT hardware, software, systems, and service delivery solutions in response to customer requirements. This position will support a variety of direct customer support requirements as well as the development of innovative strategies and solutions for the company. The ideal candidate will combine the technical skills and education described below with experience delivering complex, end-to-end solutions to support customer and corporate business growth objectives. This position requires excellent written, graphical, and verbal communication skills and the ability to present solutions to internal and external customers ranging from technical teams to C-level executives. Projects will range from long-term innovative solution development support to multiple, concurrent quick turnaround engagements. Some travel is required.
Position Requirements
10 years of demonstrated experience developing IT infrastructure and software solutions for government and/or industry. 5 years experience as an Architect directly supporting IT system concept development, technology selection, and initiating and leading development teams. Must have a very high level of expertise with Microsoft Office including Visio and PowerPoint. Specific requirements include:
Experience with big data technologies, SOA, web services, Agile development, mobile device development, virtualization, and cloud computing.
Knowledge of current and emerging industry based standards, open source capabilities, social media service based technologies, open data policies and technology evolution paths.
Knowledge of current technology vendors and service providers and the ability to lead the vendor alliance development process
Knowledge of the full software and systems lifecycle and relevant management processes
Knowledge of IT operations, processes, security, and relevant government standards and processes.
Strong communications, organizational, and writing skills
Ability to graphically document complex technical architectures, systems, and concepts.
Effective at performing technical presentations to both technical and business/executive audiences.
Production of accurate high-level plans and estimates, and ability to effectively document and communicate these to project management and technical development staff.
Ability to work on multiple, concurrent efforts and manage time efficiently
Ability with work with technical staff and lead technical teams to develop IT solutions
Must be able to pass a government background investigation.
Education and
Experience:
B.S. (MS preferred) degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 10 years of experience or combination of education and experience.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
