In addition to the basic education requirement, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.To qualify for the GS-09:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements in addition to the Basic Education Requirement:
(a) One year of professional experience in an appropriate field at least equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to GS-7 in the Federal service within or closely related to the specialty for which application was made. Specialized experience includes supporting the design, analysis and/or testing of hardware components related to ACS sensors and/or guidance, navigation and control hardware systems; or(b) Completion of all requirements for a master's or equivalent graduate degree in an appropriate field; or(c) Two full academic years of graduate education in an appropriate field; or (d) An equivalent combination of experience and graduate study.To qualify for the GS-11:
In addition to the Basic Education Requirement, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) One year of professional experience in an appropriate field at least equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to GS-9 level work in the Federal service within or closely related to the aerospace technology specialty for which application is made. Specialized experience includes working with and applying multi-disciplinary engineering concepts, methods, and processes in design, analysis and testing applicable to guidance, navigation or control hardware and/or ACS sensors; or(b) Completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field; or(c) Completion of three full academic years of graduate education in an appropriate field; or (d) An equivalent combination of experience and graduate education.To qualify for the GS-12:
In addition to the Basic Education Requirement, applicants must meet one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-11):
Specialized experience includes researching, developing, and testing components of guidance, navigation and control hardware systems and/or ACS sensors.Your resume must include a clear and detailed narrative description, in your own words, of how you meet the required specialized experience.
