AST, Mission Support Requirements and Development (Mission Manager)
In addition to the basic education requirement, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-14), which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.To qualify for the GS-15:
Specialized experience includes serving as a technical authority and/or consultant/advisor in spacecraft operations, anomaly resolution, maneuvers, and risk management; and/or experience in on-orbit mission operations of Spacecraft and Spacecraft Instruments and support of spacecraft anomaly teams and spacecraft command authorization meetings. This experience may have been gained in roles such as managing a Spacecraft Mission Operations Flight Operations Team, serving as a Flight Operations Lead supporting several Spacecraft Anomalies and Anomaly Review Boards, or developing, testing and/or operating spacecraft, ground and/or instrument systems to support spaceflight/mission operations functions.
