In addition to the basic education requirement, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12), which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.To qualify for the GS-13:
Specialized experience includes experience in development of semiconductor, MEMS and or low temperature sensors; experience with semiconductor and superconducting sensor process and fabrication techniques in a cleanroom environment; experience with low temperature superconducting detector devices including transition edge sensor (TES) bolometers and their methods of manufacture:
experience with cryogenic testing, and micromachining device metrology such as optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and profilometry; detector microelectronics assembly and packaging. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
